In a world that has everything, enough food, medicine and technology to cater for the needs of everyone, it is sad to see children still living in poverty, abuse and neglect.Ashid Bahl
The seeds of For the Love of Children Society started in Kenya with the sensitivity and kindness of a young boy. Ashid Bahl, then 11 years old, gave his lunch and toys to the less privileged and learned about the significance and importance of giving. Years later, after moving to Canada as an adult, he founded the Society in 1980 with the unwavering belief that one person can make a difference in the lives of those less privileged.
Since 1980, under Ashid’s leadership, For the Love of Children Society has helped disadvantaged children the world over. We are based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and run entirely by volunteers and charitable donations. The efforts of the dedicated volunteers have touched over 100,000 children to date, and Ashid and the Society have received recognition and praise from community leaders including the Prime Minister of Canada and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
