Our School in Guatemala – Support and Recovery After the Volcano Eruption

Our school in Antigua, Guatemala, a small, impoverished village, recently received much-needed school supplies. This school is in dire need of basic infrastructure, including repairs to the roof and a sustainable water supply. With the growing number of children eager to receive an education, the school is planning to add another classroom to accommodate them.

Currently, around 40 children attend this school, but the lack of space prevents more children from enrolling. Tragically, the eruption of Volcano Fuego caused devastation in the village, leaving thousands homeless. Despite the disaster, we are grateful that the school remained intact, and the children were not harmed.

In addition to providing school supplies, we distributed food to the affected families. Moving forward, we are committed to helping the school with its urgent roof repairs and finding a sustainable water source to support both the school and the community. This initiative represents a beacon of hope for the children in the region, offering them a chance at education despite the challenges they face.
